Inspiration
In the wake of COVID-19 in 2020, Michael had a life-changing encounter with an elderly man in his 70s. The man wanted to buy supplements for an enlarged prostate, but sadly, a late diagnosis revealed prostate cancer with limited treatment options. This experience deeply affected Michael.
Motivated by this encounter, Michael started a Clubhouse community called Men’s Diary in 2022. He aimed to inspire men, especially African men, to embrace healthy living and challenge the stereotype that seeking medical or mental help is a sign of weakness.
After co-hosting the community with other health enthusiasts for a year, Michael observed a concerning trend. Male participants were less engaged in health discussions compared to women. This realization led him to found Enthusiast Express.
Enthusiast Express is a platform designed to empower Africans especially men to take action on their health.
